It’s my blogoversary! A year ago I hit the post button on my first ever blog, and Stories About Autism was born!
I had no idea how it would go, or what I was doing, I was so scared that first night.
But I was also passionate about doing this. I had a lot I wanted to say about autism and wanted the world to hear me.
I started a blog for a number of reasons, but mainly
1. To try and help make the world more autism aware and accepting.
2. To help others in the autism community realise they’re not alone, and there are others out there who understand what they go through every day.
3. To help family members and friends better understand Jude and Tommy, and what our lives are like.
I sat there that first night second guessing myself, why would anyone want to listen to what I have to say? What was I thinking?
And 1 year later, I’m so, so happy that I went through with it and hit that button.
Thousands of you have followed and liked my pages on social media, and thousands more of you have read my posts. There are people from all over the world, from New Zealand to Brazil, who have taken the time to read what I’ve written!
I’ve made new friends, reconnected with old ones, and been truly touched by each and every one of your lovely comments and messages.
So, I just wanted to say thank you…
Thank you for following my family’s story, the ups and downs, the achievements, the steps backward, the good times and the bad.
Thank you to each and every one of you for choosing to read what I write, it can be quite scary putting some of this out there, but it has been so rewarding.
Thank you for all of the likes, comments, shares, emails and messages.
I love hearing from you and about your families and cherish all of the support you show us.
I really do love this little community. Thank you for joining me
